Possibly the top city to visit in Europe is London, England. London has always been a major attraction for traveler’s visiting Europe with a wonderful, rich history and plenty of attractions to keep almost anyone occupied. There is literally so much to see, make sure you budget a few days just to see the major attractions.
Some of the more popular sites to see in London are London Bridge, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abby. There are also numerous museums in London with countless artifacts. Museums that are run by the State are free to the public.
If you love theater, London has one of the best theater districts in the world, on par with Broadway. While the London cuisine has a bad reputation, most travelers are usually quite pleased with the restaurants as well as the fish an chip stands that dot the city.
Getting to London is possibly the easiest city to arrive in for many Americans. There are numerous airlines that fly to London’s Heathrow airport and getting into town is a breeze. Getting around London is extremely easy with lots of double decker buses and a great subway system referred to as the tube.
London can be very expensive. London’s currency is based on the pound. You should figure that most items in London are usually twice as expensive as those in America. However there are plenty of deals to be had and many people on a tight budget have no problem at all enjoying themselves.
