Salzburg is extremely easy to travel to. You can easily catch a train from both Vienna or Munich or fly into their main airport. Salzburg has all the class and sophistication as Vienna except on a smaller scale. Many travelers visit the beautiful town square and amazing castle that was spared during the war.
